ECOWEEK is celebrating its 15-year anniversary this year with a unique program in June 2021 and in August 2021.
In June, a series of expert panels on smart cities-innovation and zero pollution at the European Green Week 2021. The event titled: “Zero pollution for healthier people and planet” will take place online on June 5 – The World Environment Day. The event will take place online, thus contributing in actively minimizing this ECOWEEK event’s carbon footprint and pollution.
This year, the European Green Week is dedicated to the ‘zero pollution ambition’. It also includes European Green Deal initiatives, such as climate initiatives, upcoming Chemicals Strategy, as well as initiatives in the fields of energy, industry, mobility, agriculture, fisheries, health and biodiversity. ECOWEEK is proud to join the Greek Week partner events for the second time.
From the comfort of your home, office or classroom, join the ECOWEEK Partner event at Green Week 2021, on June 5 at 11 am (UTC/GMT+3 time zone, Athens, Greece time zone) at world environmental day for a series of unique panels series of lectures by speakers from among others Greece, Czech Republic, Poland, and Israel. The event will be opened by the Mayor of Aegina Yiannis Zorbas, followed by expert panels from around Europe to discuss how innovation and smart technologies in fabrication, mobility, design, and urban policy, can make our cities and the planet more sustainable. The ECOWEEK event takes place in collaboration with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.

In August, ECOWEEK will join the celebrations of the 200-year anniversary of the establishment of the modern Greek State with Aegina as its first capital. On August 29 ECOWEEK will open a one-week exciting program of online and in-situ activities, in Aegina, Greece, with lectures, workshops, masterclasses, panel discussions, and many more activities online and in-situ in Aegina.

“This year in Aegina, we will engage in preserving and representing Aegina’s historic heritage, in exploring natural resources that can attract tourism and support the local economy all year round, we will engage the local community and businesses in public participation to generate ideas and share best practices, all this with a call for innovation in sustainable design and practices for zero pollution.”
The ECOWEEK 2021 activities will engage students and young professionals from Greece and abroad, will engage the local community and businesses in participatory design processes and public participation, and will produce tangible solutions and design proposals for sustainable tourism, revitalization of natural resources such as hot springs, activate schools in recycling and composting initiatives, and will address innovative practices in mobility. ECOWEEK will host for the first time in Greece, the Recycle Band from Poland for a masterclass on creating musical instruments from used containers and bottles!
Will interest architects, designers, students and professionals in the field of construction and decision-making, and all those interested in the practical aspects of the circular economy and innovation issues in solving environmental challenges and creating zero pollution and waste.

Η ECOWEEK σε συνεργασία με την Friedrich Naumann Foundation και με την επικοινωνιακή υποστήριξη της ARCHISEARCH και DESIGN AMBASSADOR, γιορτάζει τα 15 χρόνια δραστηριότητάς της σε 17 χώρες και σας προσκαλεί σε ημερίδα διεθνούς ενδιαφέροντος.
Με τη συμμετοχή ειδικών από Ελλάδα, Τσεχία, Πολωνία και Τουρκία και τους δημάρχους της Αίγινας, του Σαράγεβο και της Πρίστινα, θα παρουσιαστούν βέλτιστες πρακτικές στον αειφορικό σχεδιασμό και την καινοτομία, στο σχεδιασμό νέων υλικών φιλικών προς το περιβάλλον, αειφορικές λύσεις στις πόλεις, βιολογικά προϊόντα, έξυπνη μετακίνηση, καινοτομία στο fabrication και την επανάχρηση υλικών και συσκευασιών και άλλα πολλά!
Ενδιαφέρει αρχιτέκτονες, σχεδιαστές, φοιτητές και επαγγελματίες στο χώρο της οικοδομής και της λήψης αποφάσεων, και όσους ενδιαφέρει η πρακτική όψη της κυκλικής οικονομίας και θέματα καινοτομίας στη λύση των περιβαλλοντικών προκλήσεων και τη δημιουργία μηδενικών αποβλήτων.

Η ECOWEEK, σε συνεργασία με την Friedrich Naumann Foundation, φιλοξενεί ημερίδα με πάνελ ειδικών στο πλαίσιο της Ευρωπαϊκής Green Week 2021 με θέμα «Μηδενική Ρύπανση για Υγιείς Ανθρώπους και Πλανήτη».
Η ημερίδα της ECOWEEΚ θα πραγματοποιηθεί διαδικτυακά το Σάββατο 5 Ιουνίου στην Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Περιβάλλοντος. Όντας διαδικτυακή ημερίδα, μειώνουμε έμπρακτα και το οικολογικό αποτύπωμα της εκδήλωσης και τους ρύπους που θα προέκυπταν από τη μετακίνηση ομιλητών και συμμετεχόντων από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό.
Η Ευρωπαϊκή Green Week 2021 είναι αφιερωμένη στο θέμα ‘zero pollution ambition’. Περιλαμβάνει επίσης, πρωτοβουλίες του Ευρωπαϊκού Green Deal, όπως για το κλίμα, για τους τομείς της ενέργειας, βιομηχανίας, κινητικότητας, γεωργία, αλιεία, υγεία και βιοποικιλότητα. Η ECOWEEK συμμετέχει φέτος για δεύτερη φορά στην Ευρωπαϊκή Greek Week.
Η ECOWEEK είναι αστική μη-κερδοσκοπική εταιρεία με το πάθος να αλλάξει τις συνήθειες του κόσμου και με σκοπό την ενημέρωση, ευαισθητοποίηση και συμμετοχή του κοινού σε θέματα περιβάλλοντος για την προώθηση της κοινωνικής και περιβάλλοντικής αειφορίας μέσα από το σχεδιασμό. Τα εργαστήρια της ECOWEEK αστικών παρεμβάσεων και placemaking έχουν επηρεάσει θετικά τον αστικό χώρο σε περισσότερες από 30 πόλεις, μέσα από 200 και πλέον εργαστήρια αειφορικού σχεδιασμού και τις καινοτόμες ιδέες περισσοτέρων από 4500 φοιτητών αρχιτεκτονικής και σχεδιασμού και εκατοντάδες τοπικούς φορείς, παράγοντες και πολίτες.
