Interior Design Laboratorium has completed and presents BON BON Fait Maison, an innovative concept of fast gourmet food on a Greek island, where the Ionian, Aegean and Cretan seas meet under the Greek sunlight.
The story begins a few years ago when some friends from Paris got together in Kythira. The island’s strange energy, the flavours, the aromas and the authenticity of the place made their hearts beat loudly. This intense love for the island evoked their need for creation. This is how BON BON Fait Maison (homemade) was designed, shaking things up gastronomically on the island. The soul of the endeavour is Chef Kriton Minas Poulis, straight from Paris, he is the man who envisioned the gastronomic philosophy behind BON BON Fait Maison. The interesting menu includes homemade ice creams and sorbets that smell like Greece, French galettes and crepes from Brittany with black buckwheat flour, fresh juices of unique combinations and a strict selection of Greek traditional products.
The Interior Design Laboratorium, was asked from the beginning to conceive of a design identity which could travel to other Greek islands as well as major European cities. The first BON BON Fait Maison is located in the town of Kythira, on the ground floor of a traditional two-storey building from the 1860s which was refurbished with the invaluable help of the local architectural firm m3kythira which undertook its reconstruction according to the design of Interior Design Laboratorium. The design is inspired by Greece, the Greek summer and the life of the people living on the Greek islands. The intention of the design study was to create a space that would subconsciously awaken to the visitor memories of their childhood summer innocence; much like the warm feeling of the summerhouse that keeps you coming back.
The careful selection of materials and elements, such as the traditional mosaic floor, the white marbles from the island of Naxos, the built-in benches and the wooden ceiling which was carefully restored and preserved, are familiar images tied to Greek island houses. The furniture and all the wooden constructions were custom designed for the project, highlighting both the uniqueness of the project and the design philosophy of Interior Design Laboratorium. The decorative lighting fixtures made from brass, porcelain and glass project impressive sparkles of design on the white plaster walls. The design outcome features a mix of old and new elements that emit a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Το Interior Design Laboratorium ολοκλήρωσε και παρουσιάζει το BON BON Fait Maison, ένα νέο concept γρήγορου gourmet φαγητού σε ένα ελληνικό νησί, όπου το Ιόνιο, το Αιγαίο και το Κρητικό πέλαγος συναντώνται κάτω από το ελληνικό φως.
Η ιστορία ξεκινάει λίγα χρόνια πριν, όταν μία παρέα από το Παρίσι βρέθηκε στα Κύθηρα. Η παράξενη ενέργεια του νησιού, οι γεύσεις, τα αρώματα και η αυθεντικότητα του τόπου έκανε την καρδιά τους να χτυπήσει δυνατά . Ο έρωτάς τους για αυτό το νησί τους γέννησε την ανάγκη της δημιουργίας. Έτσι σχεδιάστηκε το BON BON Fait Maison (καλό-σπιτικό), ταράζοντας τα μέχρι τώρα γαστρονομικά δεδομένα του νησιού. Η ψυχή του έργου, ο σεφ Κρίτων Μηνάς Πουλής, ερχόμενος απευθείας από το Παρίσι, είναι ο άνθρωπος που οραματίστηκε την γαστρονομική φιλοσοφία του BON BON Fait Maison. Το ενδιαφέρον μενού περιλαμβάνει χειροποίητα παγωτά και σορμπέ που μυρίζουν Ελλάδα, γαλλικές γαλέτες και κρέπες από την Βρετάνη με αλεύρι από μαύρο φαγόπυρο, φυσικούς χυμούς από ιδιαίτερους συνδυασμούς και μία αυστηρή επιλογή από ελληνικά παραδοσιακά προϊόντα.
Στο Interior Design Laboratorium ζητήθηκε από την αρχή η δημιουργία μίας σχεδιαστικής ταυτότητας που να μπορεί να ταξιδέψει το έργο αυτό και σε άλλα ελληνικά νησιά, καθώς και μεγάλες πόλης της Ευρώπης. Το πρώτο BON BON Fait Maison βρίσκεται στην χώρα των Κυθήρων, στο ισόγειο μιας παλιάς διώροφης παραδοσιακής κατοικίας του 1860, η οποία ανακατασκευάστηκε από την αρχή με την πολύτιμη βοήθεια της τοπικής αρχιτεκτονικής εταιρίας m3kythira που ανέλαβε την κατασκευή σύμφωνα με την σχεδιαστική μελέτη του Interior Design Laboratorium. Ο σχεδιασμός είναι εμπνευσμένος από την Ελλάδα, το ελληνικό καλοκαίρι και τη ζωή των ανθρώπων στα ελληνικά νησιά. Στόχος της σχεδιαστικής μελέτης ήταν ο επισκέπτης να αισθάνεται υποσυνείδητα καλοκαιρινά συναισθήματα και ο χώρος να του ξυπνάει αναμνήσεις από το παρελθόν, θυμίζοντας την αθωότητα της παιδικής του ηλικίας. Σαν ένα σπίτι με οικεία ατμόσφαιρα που σε κάνει πάντα να επιστρέφεις. Η προσεκτική επιλογή των υλικών και στοιχείων, όπως το παραδοσιακό μωσαϊκό πάτωμα, τα λευκά μάρμαρα από το νησί της Νάξου, οι κτιστές παγκάδες και το παλιό ξύλινο ταβάνι που συντηρήθηκε, είναι εικόνες γνώριμες και δεμένες με τα ελληνικά νησιωτικά σπίτια. Τα έπιπλα και όλες οι ξύλινες κατασκευές είναι ειδικά σχεδιασμένες για το έργο, τονίζοντας την μοναδικότητα του σχεδιασμού και την σχεδιαστική φιλοσοφία του Interior Design Laboratorium. Τα διακοσμητικά φωτιστικά από ορείχαλκο, πορσελάνη και γυαλί δίνουν σπίθες design και εντυπωσιασμού πάνω στους λευκούς σοβατισμένους τοίχους. Στο σύνολο του σχεδιασμού διακρίνεται μία μίξη από παλιά και νέα στοιχεία design που εκπέμπουν μια ζεστή και φιλική ατμόσφαιρα.
