Το γραφείο των Ghost designers ολοκλήρωσε το 2018 το wine bar ΚΑΡΟΛΟΣ, στη Νέα Σμύρνη, ακολουθώντας ρετρο ύφος και απλές, ανεπιτήδευτες γραμμές.
H σχεδιαστική κατεύθυνση σε αυτό το έργο καθορίστηκε από τις αρχές του κινήματος σχεδιασμού των δεκαετιών ‘40 με ’70.
Η παλέτα των υλικών επιλέχθηκε προσεκτικά ώστε τα έντονα χρώματα να μην επισκιάζουν τα απογυμνωμένα από διάκοσμο έπιπλα που χαρακτηρίζονται από καθαρές γραμμές με απαλά και κυρτά τελειώματα.
Οι ξύλινες κατασκευές και επενδύσεις αν και έχουν κυρίαρχο ρόλο μέσα στο χώρο, συνεργάζονται αρμονικά με τις αντανακλάσεις των λείων μεταλλικών επιφανειών και των ουδέτερων χρωματικά κεραμεικών όψεων.
Τα αυστηρά γεωμετρικά μοτίβα που προκύπτουν, όπως ο κάναβος των λευκών πλακιδίων και οι γραμμικές σκοτίες των ξύλινων επενδύσεων δημιουργούν μία ενδιαφέρουσα αντίθεση με το τυχαίο μοτίβο που παρέχει το σκούρο μωσαϊκό που επενδύει τον πάγκο του μπαρ.
Η επιλογή των υφασμάτων έγινε με σεβασμό στο ύφος της επίπλωσης καθώς και της συνολικής χρωματικής παλέτας.
Αξιοσημείωτη είναι η παρουσία των ιδιαίτερων κρεμαστών φωτιστικών με ορειχάλκινο τελείωμα που αναδεικνύουν την περιοχή του μπαρ καθώς και ορισμένους χώρους φαγητού ενώ η κατανομή του γενικού φωτισμού στοχεύει στην παραγωγή της κατάλληλης ατμόσφαιρας.
Ghost designers have completed KAROLOS wine bar in Nea Smyrni, Athens, following retro aesthetics and simple lines.
The key design approach to this project was determined by principles that defined the Mid Century movement.
The palette of materials was carefully selected in a way that the saturated colors do not overshadow the simple, clean-cut, slightly curvy furniture.
Wooden structures and claddings play a dominant role in the composition while remaining balanced by the reflections offered by both metal finishes and neutral-colored ceramic surfaces.
Strict geometric patterns deriving from the white tiles’ grid and the striped wooden panels stand in contrast to the random pattern provided by the dark terrazzo coating on the bar.
The choice of fabrics was made in respect with the furniture style and the overall color palette.
The noteworthy presence of pendant lights in brass finish highlights the bar area and individual dining areas while the spotlights were distributed accordingly in order to create the appropriate ambiance.
