The residence is located at Mytilene, at the hilly terrain of Ano Halikas surrounded by pine and olive trees. A new volume was added at the front part of the existing building in order to relocate the uses in the interior of the residence and reconnect the internal spaces with the exterior and the outdoor activities.
This new volume designed by Agarch encloses the living room area with the fireplace and the dining area.
In that way the users would have the opportunity to have the whole view of the port and the coastline of the city of Mytilene during all day. The large facade windows frame the view of the sea and lead to the surrounding planted courtyards.
These views are framed by wooden custom made furniture enhancing the relaxation feeling while the details are made of natural materials such as stone, marble and wood.
Η κατοικία βρίσκεται στον Άνω Χάλικα της Μυτιλήνης, σε μία περιοχή με έντονο ανάγλυφο και μεσογειακή βλάστηση. Στους υπάρχοντες όγκους του κτηρίου προστέθηκε μια επέκταση με στόχο την εσωτερική αναδιαμόρφωση των χρήσεων και την ενοποίηση τους με τον περιβάλλοντα χώρο.
Ο όγκος με τους καθιστικούς χώρους υπερυψώθηκε έτσι ώστε να εκμεταλλεύονται οι χρήστες κατά τη διημέρευσή τους την απρόσκοπτη θέα προς το λιμάνι και το θαλάσσιο μέτωπο της πόλης της Μυτιλήνης. Τα μεγάλα ανοίγματα στην όψη του κτιρίου στο τμήμα της επέκτασης πετυχαίνουν καδραρίσματα προς το απέραντο γαλάζιο του νησιού, ενώ ταυτόχρονα οδηγούν και στον υπαίθριο χώρο της κατοικίας.
Τη θέα πλαισιώνουν ξύλινες ιδιοκατασκευές δημιουργώντας την αίσθηση του οντά, ενώ οι λεπτομέρειες κινούνται στους τόνους του φυσικών υλικών, πέτρας, ξύλου και μαρμάρου.
