Ο τουρισμός δεν πρέπει να αντιμετωπίζει τον πολιτισμό ως διακοσμητικό φόντο. Μπορεί να λειτουργήσει ως επιταχυντής για ζώσες παραδόσεις και τεχνογνωσία που κινδυνεύουν να χαθούν.

Άρης Ίκκος | Director of Research, INSETE
Ο Άρης Ίκκος είναι Director of Research του ΙΝΣΕΤΕ και υπεύθυνος για τη στρατηγική και τον συντονισμό του ερευνητικού έργου του Ινστιτούτου, περιλαμβανομένης της πλατφόρμας SETE Intelligence. Έχει πολυετή εμπειρία στον τουριστικό τομέα στην Ελλάδα και την Κύπρο, από τη δεκαετία του 1980, με έργα σε ξενοδοχεία, resorts, μαρίνες, συνεδριακά κέντρα και τουριστικό σχεδιασμό. Είναι μέλος του International Society of Hospitality Consultants από το 2005.
Έχει συμμετάσχει σε πλήθος μελετών και πρωτοβουλιών που στηρίζουν τη βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη του ελληνικού τουρισμού, συνδυάζοντας ανάλυση δεδομένων και στρατηγική σκέψη.
Καίτη Πολυμέρου-Καμιλάκη | Folklorist, Former Director of the Hellenic Folklore Research Centre, Academy of Athens
Η Δρ Αικατερίνη (Καίτη) Πολυμέρου-Καμηλάκη, γεννημένη το 1950 στην Τσαγκαράδα Πηλίου, είναι Ελληνίδα λαογράφος με μακρά σταδιοδρομία στο Κέντρο Ερεύνης της Ελληνικής Λαογραφίας της Ακαδημίας Αθηνών, όπου υπηρέτησε από το 1974. Σπούδασε Βυζαντινά και Νεοελληνικά στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών και ανακηρύχθηκε διδάκτορας το 1990 με διατριβή στη νεοελληνική μετρολογία.
Διετέλεσε διευθύντρια του Κέντρου Λαογραφίας (1994–2013), προωθώντας την ψηφιοποίηση συλλογών, εκδόσεις, εκθέσεις και συνέδρια. Έχει διδάξει σε πανεπιστήμια και συμβάλει σημαντικά στην ανάδειξη της άυλης πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς.
Ήβη Νανοπούλου | Architect and Managing Partner, TPA Architects
Η Ήβη Νανοπούλου σπούδασε στο Παρίσι – στην École Spéciale d’ Architecture. Εντάχθηκε στο γραφείο TPA ως συνεργάτης, έγινε εταίρος το 1987 και διευθύνων εταίρος της εταιρείας το 1999. Από το 2021 προεδρεύει του ΔΣ.
Παραδειγματίζοντας την ολιστική προσέγγιση της TPA, διοικεί την εταιρεία με δέσμευση στον κοινωνικό της ρόλο, την αναζήτηση της καινοτομίας και την επαγγελματική της κουλτούρα.
Υπό τη διεύθυνσή της, η TPA έχει επεκτείνει τις υπηρεσίες της στη διαμόρφωση περιβάλλοντος χώρου και στον αστικό σχεδιασμό – αναλαμβάνοντας σύνθετα, εμβληματικά διεθνή έργα, όπως το έργο ανάπλασης της Αθήνας στο Φάληρο, την Ολυμπιακή εγκατάσταση του Tae Kwon Do, το πάρκο του βασιλιά Αμπντουλάχ ΙΙ στο Αμμάν, το Πολιτιστικό Πάρκο «Έλληνες και Θάλασσα» στην Αθήνα (1ο βραβείο), τις πολιτιστικές εγκαταστάσεις του Ωδείου Αθηνών, τα διατηρητέα ξενοδοχεία Αμφιτρύων και Nafplia Palace, στο Ναύπλιο.
Αλέξης Κατσαρός | Executive Director, MedINA
Ο Αλέξης Κατσαρός είναι Πολιτικός Επιστήμονας με ειδίκευση στο περιβάλλον και την πολιτιστική κληρονομιά. Από το 2012 εργάζεται στο Μεσογειακό Ινστιτούτο για τη Φύση και τον Άνθρωπο (MedINA), και από το 2022 κατέχει τη θέση του Εκτελεστικού Διευθυντή. Στο ρόλο αυτό ηγείται μίας ομάδας επιστημόνων με προσανατολισμό σε βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη, διαφάνεια και καινοτομία.
Έχει διαχειριστεί πολυάριθμα έργα που αφορούν την ενδυνάμωση τοπικών κοινοτήτων, τη διατήρηση της βιοποικιλότητας και την προώθηση των αγρο‑διατροφικών και υδατικών συστημάτων ως μοχλών θετικού αντίκτυπου για το περιβάλλον και την κοινωνία.

Aris Ikkos | Director of Research, INSETE
Aris Ikkos is Director of Research at INSETE, responsible for the strategy and coordination of the Institute’s research work, including the SETE Intelligence platform. He has extensive experience in the tourism sector in Greece and Cyprus since the 1980s, with involvement in projects related to hotels, resorts, marinas, conference centers, and regional tourism planning. Since 2005, he has been a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants.
He has contributed to numerous studies and initiatives that support the sustainable development of Greek tourism, combining data analysis with strategic insight.
Kaiti Polimerou-Kamilaki | Folklorist, Former Director of the Hellenic Folklore Research Centre, Academy of Athens

Dr. Aikaterini (Kaiti) Polimerou-Kamilaki, born in 1950 in Tsagarada, Pelion, is a Greek folklorist with a long-standing career at the Hellenic Folklore Research Centre of the Academy of Athens, where she served from 1974. She studied Byzantine and Modern Greek Philology at the University of Athens and earned her PhD in 1990 with a dissertation on modern Greek metrology.
She served as Director of the Folklore Centre from 1994 to 2013, promoting the digitization of collections, publications, exhibitions, and conferences. She has taught at various universities and contributed significantly to the promotion of intangible cultural heritage.
Ivi Nanopoulou | Architect and Managing Partner, TPA Architects
Ivy Nanopoulou studied in Paris – at the École Spéciale d’ Architecture. She joined TPA as an associate, becoming a partner in 1987 and the firm’s managing partner in 1999. Since 2021, she presides the BoD.
Exemplifying TPA’s holistic approach, Ivy manages the firm with commitment to its social role, quest for innovation and professional culture.
Under her direction, TPA has extended its services into landscaping and urban design – undertaking complex, iconic international projects, such as the Athens Regeneration Project at Faliron, the Tae Kwon Do Olympic venue; the King Abdullah II Park in Amman; the “Greeks and the Sea” Cultural Park in Athens (1st prize); the cultural facilities of the Athens Conservatoire; the Amphitryon and Nafplia Palace listed hotels, in Nafplion.
Alexis Katsaros | Executive Director, MedINA
Alexis Katsaros is a political scientist specializing in environmental and cultural heritage issues. Since 2012, he has been working at the Mediterranean Institute for Nature and Anthropos (MedINA), where he became Executive Director in 2022. In this role, he leads a team of scientists focused on sustainable development, transparency, and innovation.
He has managed numerous projects aimed at empowering local communities, preserving biodiversity, and promoting agri-food and water systems as drivers of positive impact for the environment and society.
