– How would you describe your work?
Well, is quite hard to talk about your own work but I would say I´m more interested in ideas rather than the final outcome. Not just in ideas but instead, what would this idea add to contemporary society. I like to look at things through distinct perspectives and reformulate the questions in order to get different answers.

– What made you chose to become a Designer?
I don`t know exactly but I think is genetic. Creativity is something that I`ve inherited. My great grand-father and my grand-father were cabinet makers and my father also is a very creative man.

– Do you believe that Design is only about aesthetics or it should have / play a social role in our days?
If you look at history, design was created to improve the life of human being. I strongly believe that contemporary designers we should add something to society rather than create new products and throw them into a market that is already full of stuff.

– Does technology play an important role in Design?
Technology do play an important role in design nowadays but at the same time, we should be aware that is really important to preserve the knowledge from all those traditional crafts.

– How important is hand sketching for your design process?
Hand sketching is really important for me because I have a really bad memory and those basic drawings allows me to remember initial ideas that often comes to my mind.

– Which is the project you feel more connected to or gave you more satisfaction?
I would say the Nomadic constructive system. Probably because is the project which it took me more time to develop and also because from my point of view has endless applications.

– Which are those elements, according to your opinion, that make a designer better than others?
Good question. I respect designers who constantly open new paths, who question the established, who take the risk to experiment without knowing where they are going to end up.

– Which other disciplines do you think have interesting connections with design because nowadays we see people that are multiskilled or/and multitalented?
I would say all disciplines have interesting connections with design. Is something that can be applied to anything, from politics to medicine, economics, nature, whatever.

– Where does your inspiration usually come from?
I don´t have a standard source of inspiration. I can be inspired by anything that surrounds me.

– What advice would you give to the new designers generation from your experience so far?
Stefano Pilati once said: “Designers should make what we need, not what we already have”.
