TAKT PROJECT is “DESIGN THINK + DO TANK”. THINK=Creating attractive proposal beyond problem solving. DO=Take action to make it happen, not just planning. We represent the future vision and take action by design.
What made you chose to become a Designer?
We noticed the beautiful design has intuitive heart catching attraction and it also has deep thought inside.
Do you believe that Design is only about aesthetics or it should have / play a social role in our days?
Design is not just aesthetic value. The design is a way to keep proposing new values for our social life. We are always hoping the design will play the big role but we cannot prove it until we try it. It is better to try than not. We believe that kind of attitude itself is already ‘Design’.
Does technology play an important role in Design?
Thechnology can make scientific or physically impossible matters possible. Except, design has a role to guide the technology, to find what to make possible. And, that role is a one of the important method to guide our future.
How important is hand sketching for your design process?
We do think hand sketch is important. In same time, ‘3D sketch’（rapid-prototyping） is very important for our process. 3D sketching is not just making the ideal shape but also giving us a new issue to solve during the process. This process gives us an unexpected opportunity to spread our ideas even further.
Which is the project you feel more connected to or gave you more satisfaction?
‘3-PRING PRODUCT’ is one of the most important projects for us. This project is completely done by us from planning and producing to publishing. Designers should always think about new values of design and publish them whether having a client or not.
Which other disciplines do you thing have interesting connections with design because nowadays we see people that are multiskilled or/and multitalented?
Design is not an independent discipline but design connects other disciplines together, and it is a necessary approach for all kind of discipline. Therefore, we believe that all kind of discipline have a possibility to create new improvement by design. For instance, ‘Education’ can be very interesting subject to reconsider from a design point of view.
How do you think that designers from different culture could be connected though creation and learn ones from the others?
Team diversity usually encourages creating new ideas or giving different viewpoint. However, it only happens when the team shares same goal or vision. In other words, it is important to think like there is no limit for solution with sharing one same vision as a team.
Where does your inspiration usually come from?
Inspiration does not come from just sitting on the desk. It is important to be able to switch the rising and easing tensions against our daily life, it help to give us an alert to the signs of creation opportunity in our ordinary life.
What advice would you give to the new designers generation from your experience so far?
World is changing. Such as the situation of technology progress, environment concern and globalization are continuing shifting every day. On the other hand, there are fundamental humanity behaviours that haven`t changed for ages. We would like to find out the fine balance between those changing and unchanging matters through design together with new generators.
