FROM MOVIE SETS TO ENTIRE WORLDS: MAR CERDÀ'S HANDMADE MINIATURES

 

Mar Cerdà is an illustrator based in Barcelona, Spain. Watercolor painting and paper are the base materials of her work, both used in watercolor prints and in little dioramas made of cut papers. She works for several publishing houses illustrating Children’s books mostly and she also creates little dioramas, displayed in galleries around the world.

 

Her training in cinema and audiovisual, and specialization in art direction, are facts that have emphasized her fascination with scenography and the treatment of space, she firmly believe that a character can be defined by a space, even if is not present at all.
