The creative team PRAMA, presents on Thursday, June 22, at 19:00 in its showroom in Pagrati its first collection of objects under the name “Folds”. The team deals with the design of limited design of furniture and design objects, through sustainable ethos and the combination of technical excellence with high quality and local craftsmanship.
“PRAMA is an Athens-based studio focused on limited-edition furniture and design objects.
Derived by the medieval Greek word πράμα, (which is the simplified etymology of the word “thing”), prama refers to all the simple, inanimate objects in life that are of the most significance.
With our design, we strive to give the positive connotation and extra value to all the minor things that deserve it, as the bearers of major moments in our everyday life.
Our team is a collective of creative professionals, researchers and designers who are fascinated by nature and technology. Through our sustainable ethos, we are committed to combine technical excellence with high quality and promote local craftsmanship throughout the production process of a design object.
FOLDS is the first collection of a series of luxurious objects. Serving as a customised assemblage of forms, shapes and patterns instead of specified furniture or defined objects, the collection is using scrap steel sheets turned into 12 handcrafted metallic items, powder coated, and silkscreen signed. The notion behind the design forms and color pallet stems from raw metals, oxidation and discoloration, and unprocessed stone forms such as scattered marble rocks in quarries or remnants of ancient Greek columns that have been scored by time and nature. “
