‘Future memories’ is a genuine effort to portray the tour de force of contemporary architecture through the photographic medium from commissioned projects, self-initiated photo journeys, and editorial assignments in Greece, Europe, Qatar and United States.
Beyond the internal discourses of architectural theory, these examples of high-end architecture and design illustrate the sincere efforts of thousands of people to manifest the Beautiful, the Good and the True, individually and collectively. They learn from the past and yet the look to the future in service of the improvement of the built environment and the reevaluation of its cultural assets.
The video ‘EXPO 2015 Milano glimpses’ presents in time-lapse and hyper-lapse a selection of the national pavilions and general views from the expo site in Milan Italy, taken during my editorial assignment for the Danish Architecture Center. Selected scenes from the video were included in the documentary ‘Face of a Nation: what happened to the World’s Fair?’ by architect and senior lecturer at the USC School of Architecture Mina Chow (http://www.
The video ‘Future Memories’ presents still images from architectural projects from Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Scotland, Qatar, Lebanon, and United States, with private and public buildings from national and international firms. Selected images have received distinctions in international photography competitions (Neutral Density Awards, International Photography Awards, Prix de la Photographie Paris, Fine Art Photography Awards, Interior Design Magazine, Fulbright Foundation Greece Artist Scholarship Award), an invitation at the ‘Time – Space – Existence’ Venice Biennale 2018 exhibition by the Global Art Affairs Foundation, and a paper presentation at the Integral European Conference co-authored with prof. Mark DeKay from the College of Architecture and Design, University of Tennessee Knoxville.
