The lighting designers duo OKAPI is the creative energy behind an original collection of lamps inspired by Mediterranean nature.
Charms and nuances rooted in the Greek landscape, depicted in a series of luminaires which evokes memories and feelings.
Barnacles stuck on rocks, mussels just washed up from the sea, pebbles spread on the seaside, handcrafted paper boats flow on the water. The lamps of “Along the Coast” collection bring back our memories, reminding us our first summers and accompany us along the coast in our next journey.
OKAPI design team was established by the lighting designers Galani Mariza & Macha Rania, after the MSc at KTH, Sweden. Technical expertise is combined with an attentive eye to design and art, realizing projects in Greece and around the world.
The main intent of the OKAPI team is to give each project its own eminent character, according to the client’s needs, whilst implementing the same design methodology; observation, research and experience. The illusion effect takes a step further by integrating light into architecture and the senses are elevated through the holistic manipulation of light.
