In this beginner crash course you will learn some fundamental grasshopper parametric modeling and contouring to create laser cuttable-able geometry, from anything that can be cut with a laser, from Perspex to carton pieces and turn it into anything you can imagine, from stool, to building facade, to lighting fixture and more. More importantly, you will get to actually cut your own lamp design in our X380 Laser cutter and assemble it in our fab lab! Learn the whole process step – by – step in a tight workflow structure, from scratch to final object in only 10 hours!
Let’s FABRICATE! Contour Lamps is an inrtoductory Grasshopper3D & lasercutting workshop designed anyone interested in digital design and fabrication, whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced designer who wants to expand your skills and portfolio, you are more than welcome to attend. Through a 2-day intensive course you are expected to gain basic and more advanced parametric design & fabrication skills that will enable you to design your own physical prototypes. Ranging from the basic nurb creation commands to some advanced parametric methods for contouring, course will conclude to actual, in-house fabricated objects (contour lamps) which will be exhibited throughout ΕΣΩ.
