PAROS AGNANTI HOTEL, GREECE / A31 ARCHITECTURE / PHOTOGRAPHY BY NIKOS KOKKAS

The `Agnanti` hotel in Parikia (Paros island), was built in the mid 90’s. The main part of this hotel complex is a typical example of the post-modern island architecture. With respect to the design principles, A31 architects started expanding its premises, inspired from the unique view of Parikia gulf. In 2012, the team created a new construction in the southwest side of the complex.

 

The project consists of a 45m² suite with surrounding space and a 125m² garden, a private pool of 11,50m² and a 29m² double room with a 12,5m² patio. White coating has been utilized in the outdoor spaces, while grey colored cement mortar was used on the flooring and the bathroom.  The inner space was designed with a touch of influence from the art of sculpture. Therefore, the bed, the bath, the desk and the counters are all built-in and coherent with the floor and wall, giving the impression that they are totally detached.

 

Furniture which seem to be floating above light beams, the phototherapy unit, some delicate wooden details, the printed glass wall and other pieces of modern art, consist of a luxurious space of serenity and comfort.

 

The exterior space is also designed with apparel elegance and provides a marvelous panoramic view of the gulf of Parikia, where the pool and the aegean sea water become a united blue liquid landscape.
