Ο Heechan Park είναι ένας Νότιο-κορεάτης αρχιτέκτονας και designer με έδρα το Λονδίνο και τομέα έρευνας την σχέση της αρχιτεκτονικής και του χρόνου. “Μια Αρχιτεκτονική Μηχανή του Χρόνου” είναι το πρόσφατα ολοκληρωμένο το έργο του που συνιστά μια δυναμική κατάσταση χωρικού σχεδιασμού και δρωμένου, το όποιο εγκαταστάθηκε στο New castle old depot, στο Λονδίνο.
Το έργο εξετάζει πώς μια αρχιτεκτονική μηχανή μπορεί να δημιουργήσει ένα χωρικό χρόνο με βάση ένα γεγονός. Οι μηχανές καπνού δημιουργούν μια σειρά από δίνες αέρα και εφήμερες ζώνες οσμών, κατασκευάζοντας την αντιληπτικότητα των εκτυλισσόμενων κινήσεων του χρόνου στο χώρο. Η προτεινόμενη εγκατάσταση μεταφράζει το γεωμετρικό ποσοστό του χώρου ή της στοάς, σε ρυθμική αντιστοιχία. Τα μηχανήματα τοποθετούνται σε ημί-κλειστο χώρο, και ξεκινούν να «φυσούν-σπρώχνουνν» τον αέρα παράγοντας δαχτυλίδια από δίνες καπνού με αρώματα για να πετυχουν τον ανάλογο ρυθμό, ικανό να αναπτύξει μια συνέχεια χρόνου και χώρου. Οι παρατηρητές δεν είναι μόνο δέκτες της εξέλιξης των θεαματικών αποδόσεων των δινών που ταξιδεύουν μέσω του αέρα, αλλά και του τρόπου με τον οποίο αυτά τα δαχτυλίδια και οι μυρωδιές από τα μηχανήματα υλοποιούνται και οπτικοποιούνται με εφήμερο χαρακτήρα.
Heechan Park is a London based South-Korean architect interested in the relation of architecture and time. “An Architectural Time Machine“is his recently completed project consisting of a dynamic spatial design state and performance, installed in New castle old depot, London.
The project looks at how an architectural machine can create an architectural time based event.
The machines creates a series of vortex air and ephemeral scent zone, which constructs the visualisation of unfolding motion of time in space.
The installation proposed is translating the geometrical proportion of the building, the portico, UCL into rhythmic beating. Machines are placed in the semi-enclosed area of the portico. As the machines blow vortex rings with scents to golden proportional rhythm, they unfold continuous tempo in space.
These give observers not only an unfolding spectacular performance of vortex rings travelling through space, but also vortex rings and scents from the machines are temporally spatialised and visualised.
