The architect’s office explores the studio as both laboratory and mirror of architectural thought. The series examines how space, ritual, tools, and collaboration shape design culture. From intimate ateliers to larger practices, these workplaces reveal values and ambitions—where ideas are tested and identities take form, moving from paper and digital drawing toward the built world.
Tabula Studio design their new office spaces and transform a former consultancy office in Bilbao’s Ensanche into an open, multifunctional workspace that also operates as an immersive architectural showroom. Transparent planning, curated material displays, bespoke kitchen installations, and experiential bathrooms invite clients to engage directly with design possibilities, while every spatial element reflects the studio’s collaborative, material-driven, and client-focused approach.

The new architecture studio of Tabula Studio is located in a former office that has been completely adapted to meet the team’s needs.
Located next to the Isozaki Towers, in the heart of the Ensanche of Bilbao, the studio is on the first floor, next to Jardines de Albia.
Originally, the space housed a consultancy office, distributed and compartmentalised into a waiting room, two large offices and two toilets.
In order to adapt it to its new use, a complete refurbishment was carried out with the aim of offering an open-plan and functional environment.
The new layout accommodates five workstations and a meeting room, delimited by a glass enclosure that maintains the feeling of openness without sacrificing privacy.
The toilets were completely refurbished to become a showcase for the various design and functionality alternatives that Tabula Studio offers its clients. Thus, the space showcases different finishes and solutions, allowing visitors to experience first-hand the possibilities offered by the studio.
In addition to being an architectural studio, Tabula Studio is a distributor of Logos Scoop kitchens, so the space includes an exhibition of kitchens. Three main finishes are presented: lacquer and walnut root wood, the latter customised with a local cabinetmaker, combined with quartzite worktops from Levantina Group and Cosentino, as well as a stainless steel alternative with Pando appliances, a brand of which the studio is also a distributor.
A visit to the studio becomes a sensory journey, where customers can explore a variety of finishes, shapes, designs, textures and colours.
Every detail has been carefully thought out to offer an immersive experience and convey the creativity and commitment that define Tabula Studio.
The entrance hall is framed by a panelling that extends to the ceiling in the form of a figurative house, finished in a glossy lacquer.
In addition to adding character to the space, this structure houses the installations, which are accessible.
Inside, a unique piece stands out: the Ekstrem chair, designed by Terje Ekstrøm for Varier, in vibrant yellow. The iconic chair is theatrically illuminated by an Arkoslight Pop Up spotlight. The partition wall that forms the entrance hall, on the opposite side, is covered with a textile by Arte, with a plant pattern from the Les Forêts collection.
The kitchen-Showroom has a large three-metre island, model XP LOGOS, with Ujue drawers on one side and Makila on the other. The Sensa Cosentino Vancouver worktop is framed by two pillars clad in collaborating galvanised sheet metal. A large counter serves as a workspace where customers can participate in the choice of finishes and materials.
The access to the toilets is clad in green glazed ceramic, concealing the flush doors. The blue chair and orange Bold stool by Moustache stand out next to the wall.
The pink toilet’s flooring, skirting board and washbasin base material is alicante red marble. While the wall cladding is biocal pink cement, and the panelling: Maple wood, reflected in the circular mirror embedded in plaster.
