Lillian Muir, the Mediterranean-inspired skincare and lifestyle brand, is opening its first concept store in Athens. Located on Tsakalof Street in Kolonaki, this is the neighbourhood where the idea for the brand was first imagined and where it now finds a permanent home. Shaped by the rhythms of Athenian life and a reverence for beauty in all its quiet forms, the store brings the world ofLillian Muir to life in a space designed by architect Nikos Kouzoupis and interior designer Spyros Kitsopanosof Division Architects.

Crafted with intention and restraint, the store features travertine marble, its surfaces fluted into soft ripples and coloured with warm, earthy tones. Sumptuous velvet curtains add weight and warmth. The stone is left unpolished and porous, like coastal rock touched by sun and salt. Dark wood flooring grounds the space in shadow and stillness.

Gold accents catch the light gently, like the last moments of day. The palette moves from warm neutrals to deeper tones, illuminated by soft, ambient light that shifts gently with time.

Light fixtures throughout the store were created in collaboration with Angelos Arvanitis, a Greek ceramic artist known for his handmade lighting forms shaped on the potter’s wheel. Each piece is crafted in clay and left imperfect, reflecting a quiet reverence for material and form.

Two large picture windows frame the interior from the street, drawing passersby into the world of Lillian Muir. Nothing interrupts. Everything flows.

“This store is more than a milestone. It is a love letter to the city that gave Lillian Muir its shape and spirit. Every detail, from the materials to the collaborations to the light, reflects our way of seeing the world. I wanted to create a space that invites people in, slows time just a little, and reminds us of the beauty in everyday rituals. — Kate Lillian Muir, Founder

This is more than a store. It is a home for the skincare, candles, and clothing that define Lillian Muir, each made in Athens with care and intention. Alongside them, you’ll find glassware handblown and painted by a fourth-generation artisan in Cairo, cookbooks written by friends, seasonal reads, and accessories created with craftspeople who share the brand’s commitment to detail and storytelling.

Among the most personal pieces is a small collection of one-off jewellery, handmade by the founder’s grandmother. A great-grandmother’s name (Lillian), a grandmother’s hands (Alice), and a granddaughter’s dream (Kate) three generations, quietly woven into the fabric of the brand.

The opening of the Lillian Muir store is a return to origin. A space shaped by beauty, stillness, and the rituals that make everyday life feel extraordinary.
