A place where design and gift items find their home. A&O ARCHITECTS design WAT? OBJECT, a retail space in Athens inspired by the Neo-Plasticism movement and crafted as an environment that harmonizes with the displayed objects.

WAT? OBJECT stands as a testament to the fusion of artistry and retail, a design-centric haven nestled in the heart of Athens at 26 Solonos Street.

Spanning 140 square meters across three levels, this retail marvel captivates with its thoughtful integration of Neo-Plasticism, breathing life into a space where design and gift items find their home.

Inspired by the revered Neo-Plasticism movement, known for its mastery of form and line, WAT? OBJECT pays homage through a meticulous arrangement of persistently repeated horizontal and vertical axes.

These organizational pillars sculpt the space, crafting an environment that harmonizes with the displayed objects.

In a daring departure from convention, our palette playfully deviates from the norm.

Green boldly usurps the place of black, while the unexpected yet harmonious duo of pale pink and dark blue takes center stage.

This departure adds an exhilarating twist, infusing the space with an unexpected vitality while maintaining a nod to the movement’s origins.

The design ethos extends beyond color; it resonates within the materials chosen.

Natural oak stands tall amidst colored lacquers and micro cement cladding, weaving an ambiance that seamlessly marries tranquility with luxury.

Lighting emerges as a silent conductor, orchestrating a luminous ballet that dances upon textures and surfaces, unveiling a canvas where objects become art. The deliberate interplay of light not only accentuates the environment but also spotlights the carefully curated items, elevating the shopping experience itself.

WAT? OBJECT isn’t merely a retail space; it’s a living testament to innovative design, where Neo-Plasticism breathes anew, infusing a sense of structured elegance into the retail landscape.
