The architect’s office explores the studio as both laboratory and mirror of architectural thought. The series examines how space, ritual, tools, and collaboration shape design culture. From intimate ateliers to larger practices, these workplaces reveal values and ambitions—where ideas are tested and identities take form, moving from paper and digital drawing toward the built world.
The new headquarters of Tini Living in Madrid, designed by delaVegaCanolasso, addresses a double challenge: housing a young practice of industrialized architecture while translating its identity into space. Balancing elegance with raw materiality, the office becomes both workplace and statement—an environment defined by simplicity, clarity, and a quiet sense of welcome.
The intervention begins with the merging of two previously compartmentalized offices. The primary operation focuses on liberating the space and enhancing natural light, resulting in an open, flexible, and luminous floor plan.
A continuous folded shelving system organizes the program with fluidity, producing distinct yet interconnected environments that encourage informal interaction and spontaneous exchange.
The existing conditions are defined by two elongated façades with contrasting views. To the east, the building faces an inner courtyard characterized by a harsh, vegetation-free outlook. To the west, the space opens toward an uninterrupted canopy of plane trees, pines, and cedars in La Florida, forming an elevated landscape that shifts with the seasons.
This contrast becomes a driving force of the design strategy.
Along the less favorable façade, meeting rooms are arranged and enclosed toward the central workspace by a partition of wooden ribs and backlit translucent polycarbonate, complemented by bamboo blinds. This approach filters the undesirable view while preserving natural light. In contrast, the central area fully opens toward the green panorama, with strategically placed mirrors ensuring that every workstation benefits from the surrounding landscape.
The material palette reflects tini’s ethos of constructive sincerity, warmth, and an unembellished industrial language.
The initial gesture involves removing the existing carpet to expose the galvanized steel raised floor, transforming it into a raw and expressive surface. This industrial condition is balanced by the incorporation of wood across partitions, doors, and furnishings, introducing a warm and tactile counterpoint.
The use of orange paneling and recycled PET acoustic cladding, articulated in subtle tonal variations, establishes a cohesive chromatic identity aligned with the brand.
The interior is completed with abundant greenery, including large alocasia plants, adding atmosphere and visual freshness. The result is a bright, warm, and inviting workplace that fosters a genuine sense of comfort and productivity.
The headquarters seeks to embody the core values of its architecture—simplicity, honesty, and a welcoming character that encourages people to remain and engage.
