Η αρχιτέκτονας και ιδρύτρια του ΙO Architecture, Ιωάννα Τσιγκένη, παρουσιάζει τη νέα της συλλογή με τίτλο Blossom Relics: μια σειρά επίπλων που συνδυάζουν την αρχαϊκή δύναμη του συμβολισμού με τη λειτουργικότητα του σύγχρονου design.
Οι καθαρές, στιβαρές φόρμες, οι μεταλλικές επιφάνειες και οι ευέλικτες χρήσεις δημιουργούν έναν νέο σχεδιαστικό λόγο· αρχαίο αλλά απολύτως σύγχρονο.
Η συλλογή Blossom Relics [ανθισμένα λείψανα], αντλεί έμπνευση από τη συμβολική φόρτιση του μετάλλου και τη διττή φύση της ύλης.
Από τις Μυκηναϊκές και Μινωικές αναφορές έως τις πνευματικές απαιτήσεις της καθημερινής χρήσης, το μέταλλο μεταμορφώνεται από ύλη πολέμου και κοσμήματος σε αντικείμενα με ουσία, νόημα και αισθητική συνέπεια.
Κάθε δημιούργημα λειτουργεί ως φορέας μνήμης και προστασίας – σαν ένα προσωπικό τοτέμ μέσα στον χώρο. Η συλλογή εξερευνά τη δυαδικότητα: φως και σκοτάδι, μέρα και νύχτα, σταθερότητα και μεταβολή.
Μεταξύ των αντικειμένων της συλλογής περιλαμβάνονται:
AGATHON – Σύστημα αρθρωτών κύβων. Προσαρμόζεται σε διαφορετικές ανάγκες αποθήκευσης και έκθεσης
IAS – Βοηθητικό τραπεζάκι – σκαμπό. Με συμπαγή όγκο και διακριτικό χαρακτήρα, ιδανικό για εναλλακτικές χρήσεις στον χώρο
AMFION – Σχεδιασμένο και ευέλικτο για την στιγμή της συνάντησης και της φιλοξενίας
PROSTATIS – Τραπεζαρία-πρόσκληση σε συνάντηση και σύνδεση
AMNOS – Καρέκλες τραπεζαρίας. Η πρακτική του διαλογισμού
ERITHA – Παγκάκι. Μια διακριτική σύνθεση καμπύλης και μετάλλου, για στιγμές ηρεμίας και συγκέντρωσης.
Η δυναμική χρήση αποτελεί κεντρικό στοιχείο της συλλογής, αποκαλύπτοντας την πρόθεση της σχεδιάστριας να δημιουργήσει αντικείμενα που συνομιλούν ενεργά με το περιβάλλον και τον άνθρωπο, μέσα από την αλληλεπίδρασή τους με το φως, τη σκίαση και την αποτύπωση στον εκάστοτε τόπο.
Όπως σημειώνει η Ιωάννα Τσιγκένη:
«Μέσα από τη Blossom Relics, θέλω να προσφέρω μια εμπειρία επανασύνδεσης με το πενύμα και τη γη μέσα στη σιωπή που λείπει στην σύγχρονη καθημερινότητα. Σχήματα μνήμης, φορτισμένα με ό,τι δεν μπορεί να αποτυπωθέι σε λέξεις. Η ενέργεια μέσα στο χώρο και η συνήπαρξη του χρήστη με τα αντικείμενα αφυπνίζει την ενθύμηση από που προερχόμαστε. Το άπειρο και το τίποτα. » αναφέρει η δημιουργός Ιωάννα Τσιγκένη.
Η συλλογή Blossom Relics παρουσιάζεται στο φυσικό χώρο του showroom του αρχιτεκτονικού γραφείου στο Ηράκλειο κατόπιν ραντεβού.

The architect and founder of ΙO Architecture, Ioanna Tsigkeni, presents her new collection titled Blossom Relics: a series of furniture pieces that blend the archaic power of symbolism with the functionality of contemporary design.
The clean, robust forms, metallic surfaces, and versatile functions give rise to a new design language — ancient yet entirely contemporary.
The Blossom Relics collection draws inspiration from the symbolic charge of metal and the dual nature of matter.
From Mycenaean and Minoan references to the spiritual demands of everyday use, metal is transformed from a material of war and ornamentation into objects of substance, meaning, and aesthetic coherence.
Each creation functions as a vessel of memory and protection — like a personal totem within the space. The collection explores duality: light and darkness, day and night, stability and transformation.
Among the pieces in the collection are:
AGATHON – Modular bookshelf compositions shat adapt to the needs of each space
IAS – Side table on wheels but also function as a stool
AMFION – Mobile bars- A myth-inspired bar trolley that marries form and function.
PROSTATIS – A dining table that serves as an invitation to gathering and connection
AMNOS – Dining chairs – The practice of sitting in stillness
ERITHA – Bench – A quiet balance of softness and strength, designed for moments of pause and presence.
Dynamic use is a central element of the collection, revealing the designer’s intent to create objects that engage actively with both their environment and the human presence — through their interaction with light, shadow, and the imprint they leave on each unique setting.
“Through Blossom Relics, I aim to offer an experience of reconnection — with spirit and with the earth — within the silence that is so often absent from contemporary life. These are shapes of memory, charged with what cannot be expressed in words. The energy within the space and the coexistence between user and object awaken a remembrance of where we come from. The infinite and the nothing.” notes the creator, Ioanna Tsigkeni.
The Blossom Relics collection is presented in the physical showroom of the architectural studio in Heraklion, by appointment only. More information is available on the IO Architecture website and social media.
