Momi Slow Living, a boutique hotel located in Hersonissos and designed by Stavros Peppas (overall architecture and concept), offers a hospitality experience where slow living meets the Greek summer. The architecture draws inspiration from traditional and vernacular buildings, while the atmosphere and function encourage a change in rythm. The entrance, the spa and specific areas were designed in collaboration with Utopia hotel design.
Momi Slow Living is a 70-room boutique hotel shaped by the values of simplicity, presence, and connection with the natural environment.
Located in the vibrant town of Hersonissos, known for its lively atmosphere and coastal energy, Momi offers a quiet refuge, a small cocoon of calm that invites guests to slow down, engage with their surroundings, and embrace a more mindful pace of life.
The architectural approach at Momi draws inspiration from the traditional buildings of Crete. It embraces the warmth and simplicity found in the island’s old stone houses and farm structures.
The hotel is built using local stone, natural wood, and soft, neutral tones that mirror the colors of the surrounding landscape. The design reflects an understanding of place with careful attention to texture, proportion, and natural light. Interiors are balanced and uncluttered, with every element chosen to be functional, quiet, and in harmony with the environment.
This desing allows the architecture to create a sense of calm and connection rather than distraction.
Momi is designed to support stillness and presence.
It encourages guests to step away from the rush of daily life and reconnect with simple routines and natural rhythms.
Two serene pools serve as spaces for rest one tucked within a private courtyard surrounded by olive trees and greenery, the other opening to expansive views of the landscape. The fitness center, filled with natural light, offers a calm environment for mindful movement without noise or pressure.
As evening falls, the open-air cinema provides a gentle way to end the day beneath the stars.
Elia Tavern, set among olive trees, serves seasonal, honest food made with local ingredients.
The dining experience is informal but intentional — a place to enjoy meals slowly, savoring both flavor and setting.
For a more intimate option, a small à la carte restaurant sits deeper within the olive grove, offering a quieter atmosphere and a focused menu that highlights connection with the land.
At Momi, slow living meets the Greek summer unhurried, nostalgic, and deeply connected to place. The architecture and service support this rhythm, offering a space that makes you feel like home.
