In collaboration with the Municipality of Mykonos, Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and the Aegean Maritime Museum, internationally renowned photographer of landscape and architecture Erieta Attali (PhD) presents Archipelago of Memory | From Delos to the Aegean – a photographic meditation on the transformations of the Aegean landscape that extends beyond the limits of space and the geographical circle of the Cyclades, and speaks to the history of civilization through the dialogue between landscape and art.

In the exhibition Archipelago of Memory | From Delos to the Aegean, Attali departs from the edges of maps and the limits of the known world to seek its symbolic centre. She focuses on the ancient island of Delos (UNESCO World Heritage List, 1990), in the Cyclades, capturing through her lens the spirit of place, the Genius Loci that made the Aegean a cradle of civilization from prehistory to the 21st century. Seascapes, night shots and long-exposure photographs, the shifting of sunlight and moonlight, architectural fragments, ancient remnants and mosaics reveal through the art of photography the sanctuaries of the past and transform them into sacred landscapes of today.
From the Municipal Art Gallery of Mykonos to the Aegean Maritime Museum, the Archaeological Museum of Mykonos, and the Archaeological Museum of Delos, Attali’s photographs appear as a metaphor for the Archipelago. Like a tessera (an individual tile) that connects with others to give meaning to a mosaic, the islands of the Cyclades, the museums of Mykonos, and the works of the exhibition are linked through a journey in space and time, giving meaning to the archetypal Archipelago, the Aegean.
The photographic journey of Erieta Attali is accompanied by textual contributions from Barry Bergdoll, Thierry Grillet, Georges Prevelakis and Dimitris Philippides.
Curated by Erieta Attali and Yannis Tournikiotis, the exhibition features large-scale prints of her work. Exhibition production was coordinated by Lambros Papanikolatos, in collaboration with Katerina Zouganeli on behalf of the Municipality of Mykonos, and exhibition architectural design was undertaken by Tasos Roidis. The audiovisual design and production were carried out by Elisabeth Tsouctidi and Ari Bafalouka, and the cartographic mapping design was produced by Aris Kafantaris.

Bio
Erieta Attali is an award-winning architecture and landscape photographer, based New York City and Paris. She holds a Ph.D. from the RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, and has taught photography at Columbia University (2003-2018) and the National University of Singapore (2021-2023), among other academic institutions worldwide. Currently an artist-in-residence at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, she is pursuing research at the Académie d’architecture. Her photographic research, extending from Eurasia to Australia and the Americas, now turns to the archaeological landscapes of Delos, the Cyclades, and the Aegean. Attali’s books have received numerous distinctions and prestigious awards, and her work forms part of major international museum collections and exhibitions. She is the author of Erieta Attali on the Felix-Nussbaum-Haus. Approaching Resistance (Stuttgart: Hartmann Books. 2026).
Her exhibitions on the island of Delos, the Cyclades, and the archaeological site of Olympia (UNESCO World Heritage List, 1989) have been presented internationally with the support of the Permanent Delegation of the Hellenic Republic to UNESCO, the Embassy of Greece in Paris, the Embassy of Greece in Singapore, and the Hellenic Cultural Centre in Paris. Her most recent exhibition, Erieta Attali: Delos | Land Adrift, was presented at the Benaki Museum under the auspices of the French School at Athens.

Σε συνεργασία με τον Δήμο Μυκόνου, την Εφορεία Αρχαιοτήτων Κυκλάδων του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού και το Ναυτικό Μουσείο Αιγαίου, η διεθνούς φήμης φωτογράφος τοπίου και αρχιτεκτονικής Erieta Attali (PhD) παρουσιάζει την έκθεση Αρχιπέλαγος της Μνήμης | Από τη Δήλο στο Αιγαίο – μια φωτογραφική διερεύνηση των μεταμορφώσεων του τοπίου στο Αιγαίο που εκτείνεται πέρα από τα όρια του τόπου και τον γεωγραφικό κύκλο των Κυκλάδων, και αναφέρεται στην ιστορία του πολιτισμού μέσα από τη σχέση του τοπίου με την τέχνη.

Στην έκθεση Αρχιπέλαγος της Μνήμης | Από τη Δήλο στο Αιγαίο, η Attali φεύγει από τα άκρα των χαρτών και τα όρια του γνωστού κόσμου και αναζητά το συμβολικό του κέντρο. Εστιάζει στο νησί της Δήλου στις Κυκλάδες (Μνημείο Παγκόσμιας Κληρονομιάς της UNESCO, 1990) για να αποτυπώσει με τον φακό το πνεύμα του τόπου, το Genius loci που έκανε το Αιγαίο κοιτίδα πολιτισμού από την προϊστορία μέχρι τον 21ο αιώνα. Θαλασσογραφίες, νυχτερινές λήψεις και λήψεις μεγάλης διάρκειας έκθεσης, εναλλαγές του φωτός του ήλιου και του σεληνόφωτος, αρχιτεκτονικά θραύσματα, αρχαία σπαράγματα και μωσαϊκά αποκαλύπτουν μέσα από την τέχνη της φωτογραφίας τα ιερά του παρελθόντος και τα μεταμορφώνουν σε ιερά τοπία του σήμερα.
Από τη Δημοτική Πινακοθήκη Μυκόνου, στο Ναυτικό Μουσείο Αιγαίου, στο Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Μυκόνου και το Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο της Δήλου, οι φωτογραφίες της Attali εμφανίζονται ως μεταφορά του Αρχιπελάγους. Όπως μια ψηφίδα που συνδέεται με άλλες και δίνει νόημα σε ένα μωσαϊκό, με τα νησιά των Κυκλάδων, τα μουσεία της Μυκόνου και της Δήλου, τα έργα της έκθεσης συνδέονται μέσα από μια διαδρομή στο χώρο και το χρόνο, και δίνουν νόημα στο πρότυπο Αρχιπέλαγος, το Αιγαίο.
Το φωτογραφικό ταξίδι της Erieta Attali συνοδεύεται από κείμενα των Barry Bergdoll, Thierry Grillet, Γεωργίου-Στυλιανού Πρεβελάκη και Δημήτρη Φιλιππίδη.
Σε επιμέλεια της Erieta Attali και του Γιάννη Τουρνικιώτη, η έκθεση περιλαμβάνει εκτυπώσεις μεγάλης κλίμακας του έργου της. Ο συντονισμός της παραγωγής της έκθεσης έγινε από τον Λάμπρο Παπανικολάτο, σε συνεργασία με την Κατερίνα Ζουγανέλη εκ μέρους του Δήμου Μυκόνου, και ο αρχιτεκτονικός σχεδιασμός από τον Τάσο Ροΐδη. Τον σχεδιασμό και την παραγωγή του οπτικοακουστικού υλικού ανέλαβε η Ελισάβετ Τσουχτίδη και ο Άρης Μπαφαλούκας, ενώ τη χαρτογράφηση ο Άρης Καφαντάρης.
Επίτιμος προσκεκλημένος της έκθεσης είναι ο David Basulto, ιδρυτής της ArchDaily και αρχιτέκτονας.

Βιογραφικό Σημείωμα
Η Erieta Attali είναι διακεκριμένη φωτογράφος τοπίου και αρχιτεκτονικής, με έδρα τη Νέα Υόρκη και το Παρίσι. Έχει διδακτορικό από το Πανεπιστήμιο RMIT στη Μελβούρνη, Αυστραλία, και έχει διδάξει φωτογραφία σε εμβληματικά πανεπιστήμια, όπως το Πανεπιστήμιο Columbia της Νέας Υόρκης (2003-2018) και το Εθνικό Πανεπιστήμιο της Σιγκαπούρης (2021-2023). Είναι φιλοξενούμενη καλλιτέχνης (artiste-en-résidence) στη Cité internationale des arts στο Παρίσι για την έρευνα της στην Ακαδημία Αρχιτεκτονικής. Έχοντας ήδη ένα έργο που εκτείνεται από την Ευρασία έως την Αυστραλία και την Αμερική, η τρέχουσα φωτογραφική της έρευνα εστιάζει στο αρχαιολογικό τοπίο της Δήλου, τις Κυκλάδες και το Αιγαίο Πέλαγος. Η πλέον πρόσφατη έκθεσή της, Erieta Attali: Δήλος | Γη εν Πλω, πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Μουσείο Μπενάκη υπό την αιγίδα της Γαλλικής Σχολή Αθηνών.
