Cyprus-Based Designer Stelios Mousarris Creates Stunning Wave-Inspired Coffee Table
Editor: Anthi Rozi
The wave city table was inspired by the Tsunami waves- combining something organic (nature) with something man made (constructions). It is a well-balanced mixture of wood, steel and 3D printed technology. The carpet chair was a collaboration piece with the artist Jan Blythe. It comes in a fine selection of Persian carpets and styles. Every carpet is hand-made and takes 4 months to produce. In general, the designs incorporate a friendly and fresh perspective. I want the viewers to look at my designs /products for more than 10 seconds.

Athens-based Barault Architects Design an Exhibition Stand in Germany
Editor: Anthi Rozi
The design of the exhibition stand aimed to communicate the three fundamental values of the client, a global leader in its field. Namely, innovation, breakthrough technologies and sustainability. By deploying three interwinding free-form elements, a product organizing system is consolidated. Their structural role is dual, both as beams and supporting columns. A clear zoning emerges as the different brands and technologies are placed following the axes of the overhanging elements. The fluidity of the elements combined with the hanging banner becomes a point of interest on its own. The grey and white tones dominate the color palette, thus creating the perfect background for the multicolored and branded products to stand out. The vivid blue color as a secondary player, referring to the company logo, attracts the visitor towards the info desk.

THE CHARMING WORLD OF SWEDISH WOODEN TOYS IN THE BARD GRADUATE CENTER GALLERY, NY
Editor: Anthi Rozi
Swedish Wooden Toys represents the first in-depth study of the history of wooden playthings in Sweden from the seventeenth to the twenty-first century. Featuring remarkable doll houses, puzzles and games, pull toys, trains, planes, automobiles, and more, this exhibition explores Sweden’s long and enduring tradition of designing, making, and consuming wooden toys—from the simplest handmade plaything to more sophisticated, mass-produced forms—and examines the cultural embrace of the wooden toy as a sign of timelessness and quality. Sweden’s forests provided an abundant natural resource for the toy industry and for amateur toy makers, but the veneration of the wooden toy was, and has remained, international.

HOTEL DESIGN: ENHANCING LOCAL CHARACTERISTICS & CULTURE / ARIS GIANNOPOULOS
Editor: Aris Giannopoulos
Hotel design has always been closely associated with the tourism product. The design should be sexy, functional, modern & responsive to the product. But the most important of all, however, is the very acceptance that design is a (very important) part of the whole product. And this is how we need to evaluate it.

NOW AND THEN PROJECT: A COLLABORATION IN METAL & CLAY / NATASCHA MADEISKI & LINNIE McLARTY
Editor: Anthi Rozi
The NOW AND THEN project pairs ceramics with metalwork and references elements both architectural and historic. Madeiski's porcelain containers, and Mclarty's metal flatware unite to create an anthropomorphic series of objects which, they say, are "almost like soldiers, guarding the precious things inside."  The range consists of lidded containers in four sizes and four colour ways, each with a metal accessory.  The containers are made from porcelain using the slip-cast method, and are available in white, grey, salmon and green, and each is paired with either a brass spoon, sieve, fork or handle.
